Life // On the East Coast

I’ve been pretty quiet on the blog this week, so instead of Friday Faves I figured I’d write a little something! It’s been a whirlwind week and a half on the east coast – my second of four trips here this fall. I’ve driven to seven states, photographed some gorgeous moments, and have truly been running at full speed – and as anyone who knows me can tell you, I wouldn’t have it any other way. I’m one of those people who keeps moving until the point of exhaustion, but then if I sit still for just a little while, I get restless from being unproductive. Anyone else do this to themselves? There truly aren’t enough hours in the day…!

In between traveling, photographing, and editing, I’ve been able to connect with some friends and family who I haven’t had the chance to see in a long time. This has been SO rewarding! Yesterday I surprised my brother, Adam, and got to spend the afternoon looking at vinyl records, drinking tasty beverages, and talking for hours, just the two of us, for the first time in forever. Wedding festivities begin today for my dear friend Alyssa, and once again I get to be reunited with all of my high school best ladies. I also went up to Maine to visit with my sweet cousins, Grace and Jamie, and see their awesome new apartment. Grace just returned from serving 9 months in Afghanistan, and in celebration of her safe return, we took some portraits. Much more to come on these, but I just had to share a couple right now.

Even though I miss LA (read: Mike), I’m so grateful for this time, for these loved ones, for this life, and to be doing what I’m doing. Wishing you all a wonderful Labor Day Weekend!
