Christmas Tree Bonfire // 2012

Our annual Christmas tree-burning bonfire is the perfect way to kick off the year. It's exhilarating and beautiful, not to mention it's fabulous spending a January evening on the beach. Originally we weren't going to burn a bunch of trees, just our buddy Doug. George woke up the morning of the bonfire, however, and immediately said, "I'm texting Jeff. We're getting a truck. We need trees."

The boys went on a little adventure, and by the time Jennie and I met them at the beach, they had 36 trees. Yep. 36. And a wooden plank. And a large branch. Here are some photos from the magical night we burned them all.

2011 // A Recap (January – June)

I'll admit, I was relieved when 2011 ended. It was a busy and exciting year, but it was also overwhelming. It included major career changes, very personal losses, a lack of sleep, and constant transitions. That said, going through my photos from 2011 was an awesome reminder that every year (even my lesser favorites) includes some amazing moments.
