Life // Autumn on the East Coast

After spending the last seven weeks working in New England, the time has come for me to head back home to Los Angeles. I’ve loved experiencing the seasons once again, watching the weather change from hot, humid thunderstorms to crisp, colorful autumn days. It’s been incredible meeting so many new clients and capturing such beautiful, poignant events. I’m thrilled I was home when my brother and sister-in-law announced they’re expecting a baby, the newest member of the Costa family. I’m so grateful to have caught up a tiny bit on lost time with my parents and my best friends, especially my oldest BFF, Jackie. The past month and a half has been very busy, yet peaceful. Here are some personal snapshots from my time home.

I snuggled and played with Suzy as much as I possibly could. She hates the camera, but other than that, we’re genuine kindred spirits.

My brother, Adam, is the band director at Beverly High School – we had such fun seeing his marching band play at a football game! True Friday Night Lights!
Nothing to see here…
We celebrated Dad’s birthday! Suzy looks legitimately crazy in this photo, making me giggle every time I look at it.
Jackie brought me on a hike up Mt. Major! It was breathtaking.
Big props to Jackie for capturing this!

Arriving April 2014!
My Uncle Mike took me on my first real motorcycle ride! I was extremely entertained (and windblown).
My awesome parents.
New England, thank you for giving me such spectacular weather (can we talk about how all five of the weddings I photographed were rain free?! A miracle!). To quote Joni Mitchell, California, I’m coming home.
