This couple. This place. This session means the world to me. I love these two people so much that the right words truly escape me. They met in an airport in Nairobi, proving that you really can meet your life partner when and where you least expect to. When I think of Liz and Christopher, I think of snuggling on the couch, of warm tea and good books, of old maps, of dinner parties with good wine, of amazing hugs, of constant learning, of thoughtful conversations, of homemade beer, of playful teasing…of love in its purest form.
I’ve known Liz since I was about eleven years old, and I have her and Christopher to thank for getting me started on this path – their small, intimate wedding was the very first I ever photographed. Although they now live in Washington, DC, they came up for a visit to Liz’s old stomping grounds in New Hampshire while I was home over the holidays. We ventured into the woods behind my neighborhood on a very cold December day and had an absolute blast. I spent so many days exploring these woods as a kid, burying time capsules and having adventures…photographing there with them was the best.
Just to note – Liz knit almost all of the accessories in this session herself! Amazing.
Had to include some of Christopher’s homemade beer!
