I’ve been so caught up in wedding/engagement photo fun that I’m long overdue for a Style Spotlight! Today’s star: Lauren! She has a passion for scouring the web for affordable fashion and keeps her Instagram chock full of daily outfit inspiration. We’ve been virtual friends for a long time, but we finally met in person when I was back on the east coast last month!
I have to share – we had quite an adventure doing this session at an abandoned hospital on Massachusetts’ south shore. I may or may not have climbed a chain link fence in a floral dress, and we had an intimidating run-in with a local policeman who insisted we didn’t have permission to shoot at the location, even though we had received it. Ah, all part of the experience, and I’m happy we managed to squeeze a few shots into the brief time we had before we were kicked out (although I wish we could’ve spent way longer there…such an incredible location, right?)!

What Lauren is wearing:
Printed Tank: Target
Metallic Skirt: Forever 21
Sunglasses: Forever 21
Fur Appliqué Vest: Forever 21
Shoes: Forever 21
Leopard Bracelet: Forever 21
Giant Belt: Charlotte Russe
How Lauren describes her style:
“Since I’ve had a corporate job pretty much all of my adult life, I usually stay pretty conservative while shopping, but still trying to stay on trend. I tend to take a look and just tone it down a few bars to make it work-appropriate. I don’t really have many fashion-opportunities, so work (with the help of Instagram) is my only outlet.”
Some things Lauren loves:
“I love almost everything. I’m not super tall, so I love heels, and a high-waisted pant or skirt never hurt! When I was younger, I was all about matching, which led me to wear a lot of black. For awhile my closet was very dark. However, for the past several years, I’ve been gravitating towards prints and textures. If I love the print, I’ll buy it. I don’t care what it is. I need it. (#decoratordaughterproblems) I also embraced the skinny jean trend a few years back and never let go. You could also say that I have an unhealthy sunglasses obsession, for sure. I own maybe 2 dozen pairs of sunnies, all between $10-$20 bucks! Winning! But that figure is nothing compared to my shoe collection…let’s leave it at that. So yes. I love it all.”
