Life // Happy Birthday Corelyn!

Corelyn is one of those people who doesn't like to make her birthday a big deal - so obviously that means we have to make it one!! She moved back to LA a few months ago after trying out the east coast for awhile. These were sad, dark times...but honestly, aside from when she says, "I wasn't there for that!", it feels like she never left. You may know her as one half of the Garlic, My Soul team, along with Ms. Jennie. The three of us spend mega amounts of time together, such that after I was incommunicado in Manhattan Beach, we had the most excited reunion ever at book club this past Monday...you would've thought it had been months.

Corelyn makes the best guacamole. She dresses in colorful outfits and is famous for her use of accessorizing with scarves. She is a fellow hater of olives, giving me more support against Jennie when we order a veggie pizza. We share a mutual love of nerdy sci-fi shows like Battlestar Galactica and Fringe, and embarrassing teen dramas like The OC and Dawson's Creek (yes, I just confessed all of these things to the Internet). We have the same sense of humor/general enthusiastic responses, and have become apt at saying the same thing at the same time. She has an amazing attention to detail and is responsible for making this year's heart cake the prettiest ever. Her one weird thing is that she isn't over the moon about Pixar movies. She LOVES Harry Potter, so much that she, Jennie, and myself are re-reading the whole series from start to finish, and we aren't allowed to move on to the next book until all three of us are done. Can you guess who is holding them up from moving onto Chamber of Secrets? Er...

I adore this girl, so much. She is one of my very closest friends in LA, and I'm incredibly grateful that we've gotten to know each other, and love each other. She adds so much joy to my daily life - that might sound super cheesy, but it is completely true.

We recently did a new photo shoot for Garlic, My Soul - while most of those photos won't be shared for a bit, I wanted to show these images of Cor. Isn't she stunning?! She is frequently seen giggling with Jennie: Jennie and I gave her a lot of crap/couldn't stop laughing over how model-y she is in this photo. But really, the girl looks fierce!!

Style Spotlight // Nicole

Today's Style Spotlight is on Nicole, who works as a Senior Web Merchandise Associate for Forever 21. She also just started a fashion blog, Tailored by Colie. We hit it off from the start upon discovering that we're both Geminis from New England. Nicole is positively delightful. She's an amazing listener, and we share a very similar outlook on life. I had a blast taking these photos. Not only did we have the best light ever, but I rode a bike for the first time in over a decade and could not contain my joy!

Engaged // Abby & Adam // California Orange Grove

You guys. I had the best weekend. I spent two full days learning from Max & Margaux and Our Labor of Love at their Feet First workshop and feel more inspired then ever. I'm going to write a separate entry about my experience, but it's such a part of who I am in this very moment that I couldn't not mention it. Check out the Feet First LA Tumblr here to see a peek at what the workshop looked like!

Anyways, now onto why I started writing to begin with! Abby and Adam. I simply adore them. They are incredible clients who put immense thought into their session - location scouting, prop planning, outfit coordinating...and their efforts more than paid off! These two are so much more than just clients of mine though; they have become wonderful friends. I'm incredibly grateful to know them and to have the opportunity to document their love. They are so kind-hearted, thoughtful, and fun - and I think their photos truly reflect this. We did their session in an orange grove, which was my dream come true. We also took some photographs down in Manhattan Beach when they came down for a visit last week. Here are some of my favorite images from our adventures!
