Engaged // Sara & James // Harvard Square

Sara and James braved an early morning in Harvard Square for their engagement session, and I'm so glad they did! We had the best time wandering around Harvard University before everyone woke up. Sara and James have been together since the beginning of their freshman year at Emerson College in Boston. They found their shared passion for honing new culinary skills once Sara discovered Julia Child and Mastering the Art of French Cooking. Their engagement session was a partial tribute to Julia and Paul's time in Cambridge, complete with a stop at Julia's old butcher shop, Savenor's. Sara and James are getting married next September and plan to include nods to the prohibition era at their wedding - how clever is their save-the-date?!

Married // Rachel & Stephen

This wedding was pure serendipity. Rachel got in touch with me about photographing her DIY picnic wedding and asked on the off chance if I was going to be in New Hampshire on a certain weekend in September - and it just so happened I already had my trip to New England planned with that day free. It was meant to be! Rachel and Stephen are so sweet, so in love, and so clever. Rachel works for the World Wildlife Fund, and Stephen is a physicist. They met in grad school together at Yale University and have since moved to Washington, DC, but they wanted to get married near the lake where Rachel spent every summer growing up. Almost every element of this wedding is green and DIY. It's chock full of personal touches and is so true to Rachel and Stephen as a couple. I loved everything about their day, especially how it was completed with a sunset canoe ride around the lake. Bliss.
