Married // Joyce & Oliver // Brooklyn

It takes a truly special couple to do 163,000 miles of back-and-forth long distance visits. Joyce and Oliver did just that, and their beautiful day in Brooklyn celebrated this travel theme so perfectly! These two are so sweet together and put incredible thought into their day. Joyce is an art director and is also the most organized bride I've ever met. She crafted so many of the awesome details in her wedding - between her creative touches, their willingness to make photography a major priority, and having New York as a backdrop, I was in heaven. It was practically impossible to narrow down favorites from Joyce & Oliver's day, but here goes nothing! Congratulations to these two on no longer adding any more miles to that hashtag!!

Camille Styles & The Effortless Chic // Working Mom Style

I always love working with Jen Pinkston of The Effortless Chic! She's been seriously blowing me away with her skills of balancing new motherhood with work (and still managing to look amazing all the while). Here are some shots from our latest style session for her blog and for Camille Styles! Loving that comfy Zara shirt!

My Look // Before Barcade

I absolutely love looking at personal style blogs (M Loves M, The Effortless Chic, and A House in the Hills are three of my faves!) and have been planning on amping up this blog - so I'm introducing regular style posts of my own along with more regular Style Spotlights! While I hardly consider myself any sort of fashion guru, I love the way clothes and accessories can say so much about a person. Plus (I know I've said this before) I think it's super important as a photographer to make yourself the subject every now and again. I'm going to try not to overload you with floral dresses and braided updos, but I make no guarantees!

This past weekend was my friend Aaron's 30th birthday, and he celebrated by hosting an awesome arcade tournament at the EightyTwo, DTLA's latest barcade! Oh man, this place is SO FUN. Delicious drinks (if you like sweet cocktails go get the Princess Peach right now) and a bounty of fun vintage games! I knew I'd want to wear something comfortable so I could play pinball to my fullest potential. Not that I was eliminated in the tournament's first round or anything...! No matter, I loved how this H&M dress was a bit of a 90s throwback! So much for holding off on those braided updos! Mike and I went hiking earlier this day and I just didn't have time to do a full blowout after showering. My hair very high maintenance if I want to wear it down (as you can probably tell from all of that frizz), so this is always a quick solution. A high bun is one of my favorite go-to styles in the summer! Flats are necessary for a night spent on your feet playing arcade games.
