While I was on the east coast one of the many times this summer, I had the opportunity to drive up to Maine to visit with my sweet cousins, Grace and Jamie. Grace recently returned from a nine month tour in Afghanistan with the National Guard, and she and Jamie just started a brand new chapter in a lovely apartment close to the sea. In celebration of Grace's safe homecoming, (and as an excuse to get her gussied up after months of wearing army fatigues and zero makeup) I asked her if we could take some portraits. Grace stays true to her name - she's poised and so lovely, yet goofy and down-to-earth, and she rolls with the punches way better than most people. We had the best time giggling our way through the woods and rocky beach, and wrapped up the night with amazing pizza and Prosecco at a local eatery. These visits are pretty rare, and I really cherished our time together. A major thanks to Jamie for being my photo assistant too! Here are some favorites from our afternoon.
