2013, I’m incredibly grateful for you. You’ve been my most challenging year to date, but now that 2014 is right around the corner, I can honestly say that I’m coming out on the other side immensely stronger and happier. This year taught me so much. About how lucky I am to have loved ones who went far out of their way to be there for me when I needed them most. About the importance of being honest with myself. About the value of maintaining a positive attitude and pursuing my passions even when it seems difficult. About being grateful for all of the good in life, because no matter what, there is SO much of it.
After some internal debate, I’m going to get a little personal here. 2013 was year of extremes. I experienced the lowest of lows and end it now on a wonderfully high note. So much happened over the last 12 months. I went through my first full year of doing freelance photography. I had the honor of capturing very poignant personal moments and traveling to breathtaking locations. I moved into a brand new apartment and a new part of the city with a dear friend. I discovered a newfound adoration for jogging and ran over 500 miles. I embraced my passion for live music and attended dozens of concerts. I switched from Nikon to Canon. I got my first speeding ticket. I spent two months working in New England. I watched one of my very best friends get married. I learned that I’m going to have a nephew in April 2014. I met some wonderful new friends. I found the most beautiful love. I took more photos than ever before.
On that last note, here is a massive visual recap of 2013. Really though, it’s giant! I just couldn’t narrow it down any further. It’s a mix of both business and personal images – I’m very lucky to have become friends with many of my clients, so that line is very blurred for me anyways! These photos have helped me reflect and be that much more appreciative of this crazy, adventurous year. To all those who were a part of it – from the bottom of my heart, thank you.
Lily and I traded places and she also photographed me – she’s amazing. You can see her work at www.lilycummings.com!
To close out – Kelly and I recently began an exciting partnership with Balloon Time! These photos were taken for them – much more to come!
Wishing everyone a safe and Happy New Year! Thank you for all of your love and support!
