Together // Julia & Jeremy

Julia and Jeremy are awesome. There's just no way around it. They are the kind of people who make a four hour dinner fly by in what feels like a few minutes. In fact, that's exactly what happened when I sat down to dine with them for the first time. They have so much passion for life - for politics, for their dogs, for cooking, for art. Julia is an awesome photographer herself - the two of us met years ago while at Emerson College, working for their photography organization, Developed Images.

They decided to relocate back to the east coast after spending years living in LA, and we documented the end of their west coast habitation with this photo shoot. They wanted their session to feature natural beauty as a tribute to the east coast forests they'd be headed to, and to have a spot overlooking the lights of the city. Julia and Jeremy are now back in New England, starting a new chapter of their lives. I have a special attachment to these photos from their shoot. We only really got to know each other towards the end of their stay in California, but I feel so grateful for their friendship. They are such warm, genuine people, not to mention they have fantastic dogs. Here are some of my favorites from our session together.

Life // Thanksgiving 2012

Ah, Thanksgiving. As I've declared before, this is my favorite holiday. For the last three years, I've gathered with my Los Angeles family of friends to celebrate this glorious day. There are color-coded oven schedules, "thankful for" posters, tons of delicious food, and a lot laughter. This year was certainly no exception. Corelyn and Melissa led the troops in preparing an amazing meal. In keeping with last year's new tradition, I made a hap-hazard photo station, providing the opportunity for a lot of giggling and silly pictures. Here are snapshots from this year's fun - be prepared for some ridiculous facial expressions/props!
